Being a Christian doctor or dentist in Australia can be challenging in an increasingly secular society. Balancing personal faith with medical and dental practices can sometimes feel isolating, and open discussions about Christianity may be discouraged in clinical settings.

Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA) supports Christian healthcare professionals by providing resources, connections, and prayer support to help integrate faith into everyday practice.

As a CMDFA member, you can access our Members Portal for valuable resources, including service partners who assist with practice development, financial planning, and other key aspects of medical and dental services in Australia.

After years of intense study, transitioning into the hospital environment can be both exciting and challenging. Many relocate, leaving behind family, friends, and church, making it harder to maintain faith and community.

Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA) supports young doctors and dentists through hospital networks, connecting you with other Christian professionals in medical and dental services across Australia. Our Members Portal offers resources, including articles, videos, and podcasts.

Join our Friday night prayer, Vision Conference, or state-based events like dinners, coffee meetups, and speaker nights. Stay connected with peers and experienced professionals—CMDFA is here to support you.

I am a medical or dental student

Being a Christian student at university can be challenging, with campus Christian groups often the main way to connect with other believers. Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA) supports Christian medical and dental students across Australia with dedicated student groups and resources.

Membership is $1 per student per year. This membership allows students to gain access to the student network activities information. Students can find out more about the VISION conference for student leaders and IMPACT, the annual student conference uniting medical and dental students from Australia and the Pacific

Each state also hosts a Bootcamp Day for graduating students, offering mentorship from experienced doctors and dentists as they transition into hospitals. Stay connected through CMDFA’s Hospital Network and community support.

I am a missionary doctor or dentist

Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA) supports over 50 members serving as missionaries or working full-time in mission organisations worldwide. While CMDFA is not a sending missionary organisation, we partner with groups like InterServe, SIM, Samaritan’s Purse, Mercy Ships, and many others to support Christian healthcare professionals in medical and dental services across Australia and beyond.

Some of our mission partners also play a part at sponsoring our conferences like Tear Fund Australia, InterServe Australia, HealthServe Australia, SIM and WEC.

We provide prayer support, regular contact, and assistance during home visits. Many missionaries join our Friday night prayer, and we share short-term mission opportunities and mission needs through our fortnightly newsletter.

CMDFA values its retired members, many of whom play an active role in our fellowship. If you have more time, consider joining a state committee or regional team or partaking in a national conference team.

Stay connected through Friday night prayer and state events, or be part of a retirees’ special interest group to support fellow retired members.
